My Camp report for Fall 2003
Well, this did not work out exactly as planned. I am writing my Fall Camp report
in January. Again, Camp this last Fall was Wonderful! I was particularly happy
to see Taffeta and Ms Farida since they were not at Camp this last Spring. There
was an ample supply of hot cocoa, which was a very happy thing, as I love hot
cocoa. Karen Marie organized a most excellent Camp. I particularly want to thank
her for all the nice pictures she sent to me after Camp. I enjoyed making two
little sand art castles and a sand art sun at the craft activity. I had never
done that before and I think I would like to try it again sometime.
This time my newest Dollie Becky came to Camp with me and she attended the Dolls
and Teddy Bears Soiree with me. Becky is a baby doll. I never had a baby doll
before. One day while I was at a Dollie store, I was looking over all the
Dollies, and though I did not care fore her outfit, when I saw her I knew she
was my Dollie. I told Aunt Dixie about her one evening in GirlTalk chat and she
said she would find a pretty dress for her. Aunt Dixie knows I love yellow so at
Camp, Aunt Dixie presented me with a very pretty yellow dress for Becky which
Becky wore to the party.
We had lots of free time, which I really enjoyed. That gave me a chance to read
several of my favorite stories. I also watched cartoons on television with some
of the other girls. We had a wonderful new activity at Camp this time. Spinner
had the idea and Karen Marie lead us in making Memory Stars. We were provided
with a bunch of pretty stars cut out from different colors of card stock. We
wrote the names of girls who were not at Camp on the stars and place them on
the wall of the dining room. In the process we had a wonderful time talking
about the girls remembering our times with them. There were a lot of stars on
the wall, which gave me pause to reflect on the nature of our group. At any
given Camp lately we have more than twenty girls in attendance. We also have a
group of dear friends not at Camp, some of whom could only come once, or attend
as they are able. To all of you, please know that we do think of you and miss
you and hope to see you again.
Karen Marie started a new tradition with a Camp Book. The idea is that those who
have planned Camps will write in the book about their experiences and the book
is passed on the girl who will plan the next Camp so she will have it for
reference. Since I, with Daddy's help, have planned four or five Camps including
the first two, I was given the honor of writing in the book first. I tried to
write everything I could think of that would be helpful. I just hope others can
read it.
